2 Steps to Ensure Googlebot Indexes and Crawls Your Website Within a Day

Do you remember those frustrating days when you updated the content on your website and then waited endlessly for Googlebot’s crawler and indexer to take notice of the change? Well, here’s the good news for you. Google has introduced a new feature that allows you to request them to index your webpage’s new content directly.

The major gain of this feature is the fact that the content of your website is updated within just 24 hours of placing the request. So how can you avail this feature? Here are 2 steps to guide you through this –

Submitting a URL

This feature is very simple to use and the sole requirement for this is a Google webmaster tools account. Hover to the Diagnostic tab on the Google page and click on the Fetch as Googlebot option to open the dialogue box where you need to submit your website’s URL. Copy and paste the URL of your updated website page in this dialogue box and wait for Google to fetch it. On successful completion of fetching, you will see that the option ‘Submit to index’ will appear.

On clicking the ‘Submit to index’ button, you will get two more options. Now, you will need to choose whether you want to index that page only or all the linked webpage from that page. Choose one of the options according to your requirements. Remember that when you are submitting the URLs, you can submit a maximum of 50 unlinked URLs per week from your account. In case you are submitting linked URLs, the maximum number of weekly submissions is restricted to 10.

Submitting an Unverified URL

In case you are submitting an URL not owned by you personally, you can submit them to Google’s crawler for indexing purposes. The process of this submission is similar to the process of submitting a URL, as explained in the previous point. The sole difference lies in the fact that you will need to go through a step where you need to input a Captcha for verifying that you are not an automated machine.

It is strongly suggested that you use this free yet effective tool for instant indexing of new content of your website. Or, you may a hire a professional SEO reseller firm to do it for you. Be advised that indexing doesn’t ensure instant visibility of your webpage on Google’s search result page. It will still need to go through the usual algorithm analysis for ranking of webpage for that purpose.
