Google Wallet Is Live

We first heard about Google Wallet back in May, today Google announced that they would be releasing the first version of the NFC enabled app which will work with the latest Nexus S 4G handsets in the US. This update will be pushed out through an over the air update, all the users have to do is look for the “Wallet App” in the marketplace. Google has said that its goal is to create a mobile payment system which allows users to add all their cards to the app, doing away with the traditional wallet.

Personally I think this is a great idea, I would love to be able to go out with only my phone. I think the biggest challenge for Google will be user adoption and having merchants implement the technology.
