Out With The Old And In With The New
If you are a regular visitor to my blog then you will probably you have noticed a few big changes to the site over the weekend. I have been thinking about updating my blog for the past few months, but due to a number of reasons I just haven’t got around to doing anything about it. Don’t get me wrong I liked how the site looked previously, but I knew what I wanted when I first moved over to WordPress from Posterous and that wasn’t it, I wanted a minimalistic style and professional look to my blog and always planned to update it.
Finding a style I wanted was the hardest part, I knew what I wanted but I just couldn’t find a theme that I liked, there had been a few that caught my eye but nothing really jumped out at me. Then, A few weeks ago I came across this little beauty which is called Avenue over on Themeforest and I knew straight away that’s exactly what I was looking for.
Usually updating your theme on WordPress is very easy, but this update hasn’t gone as smoothly as I had hoped for. The new theme gives me the ability to add featured images to my posts which then shows up on the home page, however after I installed the new theme I noticed that this functionality wasn’t working properly when I was creating a new post or editing an existing post. I initially thought it could have been a problem with the theme install or WordPress itself but after some further investigating it turned out to be a rogue plugin which was causing me the all headaches.
I have now removed the plugin and everything seems to be ok. I have begun adding the featured images to my existing posts, although I’m not sure if I’ll be able to add the featured image to every post as I need to do this individually one by one, and as you can see there is a lot of posts.
Anyway, I hope you like the new look of my blog. If you have any feedback then please leave me a comment below. I better get back to adding those featured images or I’ll still be here this time next year
