The All New iPhone is 1 Week Away

We are getting closer and closer to the official unveiling and the actual release of the latest iPhone device, the new iPhone 5. It’s been a long time coming, with rumours flying around about this device for the past year or more. As we’re so close to the official unveiling and finding out what the new iPhone does actually have in store for us, I thought it would be nice to take a look back at the rumours so far and see what ones actually make it into the device and which ones do not.

Before we get started with the details about what is supposedly changing for the new iPhone, I have a nice video for you to watch which gives you a 360 degree look at the new iPhone and it’s design compared to its predecessor – the iPhone 4S.

As you should be able to clearly see from the video, the new iPhone has a taller screen and is around one-third slimmer than the iPhone 4S, making it a very nice size and shape. Another thing you’ll notice from the video is the new material on the back-plate of the iPhone 5. In my opinion it looks much more professional and business styled than the iPhone 4S. I can picture the new iPhone as a business model and the iPhone 4S as a personal.

Alongside the new iPhone we are going to get the updated operating system – iOS 6, which in itself brings us a whole heap of new features, updates and even a couple of all new applications.

One thing that I’m really looking forward to seeing on iOS 6 is the new updated Maps app – it’s no longer going to be using Google Maps, but instead, data provided by Tom Tom and it’s going to feature a live turn-by-turn navigation system – directly from the Maps application on your iPhone! They previewed this feature at WWDC 2012 and it looks awesome – rivalling even stand-alone GPS units from Tom Tom, Garmin and so on. Apple also announced that the Maps app will be able to deliver real-time traffic information based on anonymous information sent by other iPhone users.

The new iPhone and iOS 6 are certainly a force to be reckoned with, and I personally cannot wait to see them both in just over a weeks’ time.

What do you think of the new iPhone and iOS 6? Are you looking forward to it? Will you be buying the new iPhone as soon as it’s available? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
