Twitter Rolls Out Enhanced Brand Pages

Twitter’s head of PR in the UK Rachel Bremer has announced today that the popular social network has begun rolling out brand pages in an effort to build better relationships with its current advertisers. The pages which were first announced back in December are now live for several popular accounts including Asda, SkyHD, NPR, Volkswagen and the Huffington Post.  This will be the first batch of the enhanced pages that we will see following the launch with selected partners which included Coca-Cola, The Red Cross and American express back in December.

Twitter has confirmed that we will continue to see the roll out of the new pages over the next few weeks/months to their advertising partners and other partner’s which include charities, media organizations, and individuals. However, this doesn’t come for free. Brands and businesses are required to pay at least 25k on Sponsored Tweets or Trending Topics just to be eligible for the new pages. The new format will now give brands the ability to customize their profile which includes banners ads, the ability to send messages which are longer than 140 characters and sticky tweets similar to what brands have available just now with Facebook Pages

What do you think of the new brand pages?  Let us know in the comments below.
